Hello all fellow SVO enthusiasts out there! I have a question about the rear axle brake lines. I'm building a combination of an 85 GT and 84 SVO, and I've just put the SVO axles and disc brakes in the 8.8 rearend. My question is: in 86 when they switched to dual exhaust did they make the brake lines so that the flex line was mounted at the differential, or was it still mounted on the axle tube? I need lines for the discs that have the differential mounted flex line since my car has dual exhaust. If anybody could let me know, or lead me to someone who might have what I need it would be appreciated!!! Thanks! -Mark

i do know that the 86 svos have the brake hose on the center section. if you are running an 8.8, you'll also want to get a spacer for under the brake hose. since the stock hose is designed for a 7.5 rear, it is too short and will cause a problem when mounting it to the body. as for the hard lines, i would bend new ones or try the lincoin mark VII line(i believe they'll fit). good luck....so you have a V8......isn't that cute....

Just so you know (in case you don't). Make SURE you get a flare kit capable of doing double flares. They will be necessary to make sure they maintain their seal under the pressures of a brake system. They are easy to come by, although a little more expensive than a single glare tool. The nice thing is, that most will allow you to also do single flares when working on stuff that needs that.
