  • 5.0 t-5?

Info needed on installing 5.0 T-5. I understand that the (input shaft) length and pilot dia. are different. Can I assume that I need a different bellhousing? Will the driveshaft be the same length? Thanks.

The driveshaft is the same as the 5.0. The input shaft is slightly shorter, but can be made to work.
Check with D&D performance they can help you with that.

The V8 T5 is pretty much a bolt in on our cars. Danny Sparling (member#330) just installed one in his 84. He had to change out the pilot bushing in the crankshaft to a different one(NAPA part#615-1129) it is an 11/16 or 0.688 bushing.

The only negative might be the rear gears. You might wind up going to 4.10's or lower to keep the car drivable especially if you do not have one of the V8 trannys with the 3.35 first gear.
