If I were to take my SVO to a good exhaust shop here in town and have them do a 3" from the exhaust elbow back, & the fact that it would be crush bent, rather than mandrel, (unless they stock 3" mandrel bends). Would I see a good improvement above my stock 2.5" exhaust (no cat)?

-Would the crush bent be a serious performance compromise not worthy of the money saved?

-Anyone done this already and have a ball park estimate on the cost's?

-Using an economical approach, and I were to use the Midas Dealers "performance" muffler, (similar to a Dynomax it appears), which would be best, straight thru or offset.

    thanks!

you mean would the time, effort, cost, and effectiveness be justified to do over ordering a $110 pre-fab 3" mandrel bent downpipe? In my opinion ...No

      Hey Bud,
I was talking 3 inch all the way out versus just a downpipe. Not a crush bent downpipe alone vs ordering a mandrel.

I'd hate to put a good downpipe on the new (yet crummy) 2.5 inch crush bent the guy put on the car just before I bought it. Arrghhh!

ahhh... well, I still wouldn't waste money on anything that's a "in the meantime' kinda project. When you get some coin together - call Paul and order the parts and then ask him about Ryan installing it. You'll be extremely happy with the end result. I gained 17hp at the wheels with nothing but a 3" DP and eliminated the Cat. - into 2 1/2" tails (w/mufflers).
