Should I place blowoff valve on the hot or cold air side of the intercooler on a stock 86? Thanks.

Either side of the intercooler is fine, it doesn't make a differance that I am aware of. I have seen it on both sides. It comes down to where the BOV and plumbing fits. HTH.

      Blowoff Valve

Could someone explain the value of a blowoff valve? I have heard about them and seen them. Would like to know the facts I guess. Also does anyone have any pics of one installed on a stock 86 SVO? Finally, where can you buy these??

I have one (not a pic) but the Bypass Valve. What it does is vents incoming air off the inlet side of your compressor wheel....thus, allowing it to continue it's spin - thus allowing less lag between shift as well as prolonging the life of your Turbo. Before I installed mine, it sounded like my turbo was coming to SKEETCHING halt (literally) every time I would shift during higher RPMS. Now, each time I shift..., you'll hear a purge and I'm still at full boost when I engaged the next gear.

Tiny Avenger sell a complete PRE FABRICATED kit. I like stuff that's pre fabbed, so I don't spend all day trying to figure out how I will make it work - or re-doing 3 or 4 times before I get it right.

The only slight modifcation you'll have to do is drill/tap a spot on your Intercooler.
