  • SVO specific Koni vs. Bilstein, Tokico, etc.

Aside from the compression and rebound rates, what makes the SVO specific Koni struts and shocks different than the same year or 87-later struts and shocks?

I've heard (may be qualified) that the mounting bracket width (where it attaches to the spindle) is narrower than 87-later. The 87-later unit can be used with shims. True?

    Thanks for the info

It's how they attach ... the SVO has a unique suspension. personally, I would not use anything but the specific front struts (rear shocks are universal) - and I woud NOT shim my suspension. You're just asking for trouble.

Now - with that said....you can swap SN95 suspension onto a SVO. It is not a true bolt on, but it can be done....then you can run any strut you want.
