How difficult is it to switch 87-up interior rear trim panels into an SVO? Is it just a simple switch out, or are there any hidden secrets? I'm looking at puting in a rear seat delete kit from Dugan Racing, but it doesn't work with 79-86 rear interior panels.

Whoa - deja-vue.
I just tried this swap last weekend. Went to Dugans - got the kit - had to ask for hardware and instructions as it wasn't in the box - was never told I had to swap the 1/4 trim panels. Got home, opened the box and was VERY disappointed in the product I had just spent $270 on. It's raw ... very raw. It will need carpeting/painting as a very min. on top of the cost of the kit.
Went over to Paul's (SVPU) to do the install - started reading instructions and found out I had to swap the 1/4 trim panels (which is a no biggie if you have the parts handy) - BUT - you will have to swap out your center console as well. This was NOT an option for me. I didn't want to do that or even try for what was presented as a simple bolt in job. We tried to assemble the thing in the back of my car and realized...it is NOT a simple bolt in fit/finish project as it was made to seem. I didn't feel like trying to make something fit my car that cost so much. I wanted a pre fab kit - for that very reason - no extra engineering on my part. In short - I do not recommend it.
Decided against it. Took it back to Dugans - Tom had already left a note that he knew it would not fit my car (he wasn't there when I bought it). He also gave me a full 100% refund even though they have a 20% restocking fee.
I DID do a rear seat elimination though. Very clean, very simple, very affordable - very cool looking custom job....with the help of Paul. Even though we both worked together on it ..the basic engineering was Paul's idea. I'm pretty sure he was going to offer this "kit" for sale through SVPU. So - I'm going to refer you to him on that.

Bud hit the nail on the head with the description....it is rough and not for our cars....at least Bud picked it up and didn't have to deal with shipping. I forgot to get a picture of the kit we built for his car but I am very pleased with the end result and it will be much cheaper/easier to do than the fiberglass kits. I need to put a few things together but if you are interested, give me a call.....
