  • Dynoed the SVO

Entered the car show at the NMRA event at Bowling Green, ended up being the only SVO there. They also had a mobile dyno, and I caught them at a slow time and got a good deal on a couple pulls with wideban.

    Run 1: 222 rwhp 267 rwtq
    Run 2: 207 rwhp 240 rwtq

    Dyno Graph

    Mods:
    18 psi with Gilles Valve
    3" Sacramento Downpipe
'Randy' ported intake and E6 exhaust
    13^ initial timing
    Cone Filter
    255lph fuel pump

The first pull I yanked the knock sensor out, and the dyno guy said it pinged pretty bad up top. I put it back in for the second run and you can tell it was pulling timing big time. The wideban readings were typical for these cars, pig rich (it dropped off the graph below 10:1) at boost and then cam back to a reasonable 12:1 at the top of the pull.

Want to port an extra head I got laying around with bigger valves and a 'real' intercooler and maybe I'll hit 250-275 rwhp.

As soon as I get the data file from the dyno guys I'll post it so you can see it through dynojet's 'runviewer'. I guess they didn't understand what I ment by putting the runs on a disc, all I got was a jpg image of the graph, and not the data files

All in all, not a bad pickup for less than $500 worth of mods.

pretty nice! The 86's always respond better to mods. I'm gonna have to get mine back over to a dyno soon and see what it's making since I've changed a couple of things.

      pretty cool...

I'd like to see how it shows on the viewer too... make sure you post when you get that stuff...

makes me wonder how much power I am making, cause I have about those same mods, with that big valve head (very lightly ported) .. but I didn't do much to my intakes, other than clean them up really good..

EDIT:: I really meant to go to that show.. wish I had now...
Everyone that was suposed to go with me backed out, and My wife wanted me to stay (and mow the yard ) .. so I wound up staying home.....

You would have been pissed at how much the entry fee was....I went couple years back - IIRC, cost me $20 to spectate and I didn't get there until 3:30pm..

Hey, I saw your black SVO in the show field on Saturday, wish I'd seen the dyno pull.

Hey Eric, my Ryan and I drove up to see you since you said you were gonna be there...I looked all over for you and your silver SVO and guess what I found....NOTHING! You owe me $20.00

Finally got the data files, its up on my Dynojet Resource Site

Its funny when you overlay it with my blown 5.0's graph, the SVO almost looks linear.
