Here we go, I am finaly working on my SVO.
I have an 86 2R that I purchased about 4 and a half years ago, I am the second owner. It has cloth and a sunroof. It has been sitting in my shop for that long on jack stands. I took the wheels off and had them redone. That was it. As you can see it was not alone for that time.
I have been involved with mustangs for about 15 years now. How time flies.
The car already came with some cool modifications, mainly on the engine side, big valve head, bigger turbo, electronic boost controller, etc.
I have been sitting on the side lines for about this ammount of time, but no more. I sent my application last week and I am starting to write here.
What I want to do is suspension updgrades and maybe paint. I want to make a fun street car that I can have fun with at track day events.
So I am here to get my technical questions answered.

Welcome. Your just in time as the reunion this year will be at the Barber race course in B'Ham, AL. Were hoping for 100 or more SVOs as it is tied with the 30th MCA show.

Welcome !!
Well...as for suspension ( without knowing your :"background" as a driver ) I would suggest the basics such as just checking the rubber bushings for wear. If they are bad replace with some urethane. Then weld in some sub-frame connectors.
Then give her a beatin' and se where it spirals from there after you are used to her.

You're down around the Newnan - Peachtree City area? Coolio. That'll be an easy drive for you to the Reunion. ;)
Suspension - you don't need anything fancy to have fun. Like Gator said, the sub frames (first) and the bushing replacements would be a priority. Then I'd suggest some springs (check out the thread in the suspension area), CC plates, and a flaming river steering shaft .. top it off with a nice set of tires and give that a try that out for a day or two. Very simple - but it'll definitely wake the car up.

I'm just outside of Peachtree City. I bought the car from Fayetteville. I grew up in Peachtree City.
The reunion is what has started getting motivated to work on the car. I seem to do this. I have gone on 2 power tours with my fastback. The first one I redid the rear end and finished 2 days before we left. The last one I i redid the front suspesnsion and finished a week before. It seems to help me stay focused and gives me an excuse to finish a project.
I am a novice as it comes to track experience. But I do want to make some improvements to the suspension. The springs need replacing so those will be new.
My ideas so far for suspension. New rear suspension arms, springs (leaning to Motorsport B's), poly bushings for the front, CC plates, subframe connectors, strut tower brace, and front K member brace. Wheels I am still undecided. The 99 Cobra wheels look interesting.
The problem that I have run into so far is deciding who's stuff to buy. I read David's tutorial and want to follow a plan.
For engine stuff. The engine has 53# injectors ,stock reguator, and what I believe to be a stock fuel pump. I was looking at reducing the injectors to 45#'s, adding a 255 fuel pump, and an adjsutable regulator. Same story here what works. Where do you get the smaller injectors? I don't know if I should got back to 35's. I guess the best here is to either get a fuel ratio meter or go to a dyno.
Some of my current ideas and why I want to discuss with people that have tried different stuff and have some reviews of parts.
thanks

Jose, now that I got you motivated...I need to keep working on staying with the original 2R color :)
