  • Recoverd Shift Knob - Fantastic!!!

I received a recovered shift knob from Bob Tweedy. Anyone looking for a shift knob should contact Bob. I couldn't be happier with the look and feel.

And Bob was great to deal with. He answered questions quickly. And he sent me email to keep me informed, etc. (this is not something I see very often). IMO, he is a very respectable individual.

    Recovered Steering Wheels

I've purchased 2 recovered SVO steering wheels from Bob and I had the same great experience. I've recommended him to two other parties to get their wheels done by him. Great guy, great experience.

I'm not sure if this is the place to ask but what does it cost to get a steering wheel and a shift knob recovered each?

Not sure of current price but paid SVOCA members got a discount last time I checked. I have gotten several steering wheels, horn pads and shift knobs from Bob in the past few years and have never been disappointed.

            reman parts

ok here is the latest info i have:
steering wheels retail 246.00 -club 226.00
            horn pads retail 130.00-club 110.00
            shift knob retail 136.00-club116.00

please dont forget that these are exchange prices( i have to send the cores in) and do not include the shipping cost to you( if you want to get an approx price i use fed ex).
also note that the prices have risen 5.00 per item.

if you send me a steering to be releathered do -yourself a favor and remove the horn rings and the plastic holder. i cannot guarantee that you will get yours back. i use a dremmel tool to get them off.
also in passing the brass inserts for the horn/cruise control and the plastic holder have not been available for some time. i go to the junk yard and rob theirs often.

            thanks

              Hi Bob,
quick question. My shift knob doesn't have a leather cover but appears to be the right shape. Can this be (re-)covered or do you need a "genuine" SVO knob???

                shiftknob

hey chalky. actually under all the leather and cloth and wrapping is a rubber/plastic shaped handle. that is all i need. but remember that the original svo knobs were metric thread. only those work. i do not check them as they are sent to me as cores but in all this time i have never had a shift knob core that wasnt svo.
                thanks

                    Thanks to Bob Tweedy

Last week I received a recovered steering wheel, horn pad, and shifter knob from Bob Tweedy. Dealing with Bob was one of the best parts buying experiences I've had. He was great to talk with via e-mail, the recovered parts were absolutely perfect, the turn around was less than a week and the price was extremely fair (By the way, it does pay to have a membership with the club!!). If you need your wheel etc recovered, Bob is The Man!!

Hey Bob, how about doing other model wheels such as the non-cruise control leather wrapped wheels on the special service (police) Mustangs? They are impossible to find NOS or decent used. There are quite a few people over at the Special Service Mustang Owners Association that are looking to have theirs recovered, I need mine redone soon and would trust you so much more than anyone else I have heard about.

Bob has done 3 shift knobs and a steering wheel for me. I also was a lucky one to win one of his steering wheels at the reunion. His work is outstanding, he keeps you informed of the progress and is one of the most honest vendors I've dealt with. You can't go wrong with Bob's work.

Bob is also a veteran...always a good thing to support those who fought for our freedom.

I plan to do more business with Bob in the future.
