  • Interior Screws

    Hey everybody!

Are there products available that contain all or most of the interior screws for the SVO? If there are, could anyone suggest a particular vendor or product?

If there are not, are there such kits for the Fox '79 - '93 Mustangs that would work?

When I was picking the car up from my Dad, we decided to fix the driver's side seatbelt. It was a relatively easy fix, but I noticed when I was putting trim pieces back together that I had a lot of incorrect screws or no screws at all holding in body panels, etc.

    Thanks!

    screws...

If Paul at SVPU can't help ya I would go to any of the late model Mustang supply places like Dallas Mustangs, etc and check. The interior fasteners would be the same as any Mustang.

You could also go to a bolt and screw distributer and match up one of the correct pieces you have...interior trim panel screws have a way of rounding out the hole wher the OEM screw will not tighten firmly, the bolt and screw supplier might have a slightly larger size that would solve that problem too.

      Home Depot

      Gary,

Thanks! I was thinking it may just come down to going to Home Depot and digging through different bins and such. I am not going for a Concours restoration, but I wouldn't mind spending a little money to get pieces that will actually put the interior together correctly. I will check out SVPU, also.

I did notice that some of the screws were going back in quite loose, but they were shiny, so I think they were after-the-fact screws...

I have lots of little things I need to do on the car like correct screws... I am reading with interest different mods people have made to their engines, though! I hope to have the time / money / resources to do that soon.

      Thanks for your response!

Lowes has an automotive fastener drawer in their hardware section... They have almost the exact screws for everything but the longest ones... I just kinda stumbled across them... I bougth a big assortment.... You can never have enough!
I still haven't found a suitable replacement for the long ones in the rear side panels (like 2 1/2" or something)... I just grabbed some out at the junkyard while I was there.
If it ain't broke... Give me some time!

You might also want to check out your local NAPA store, they have a great selection of OEM style screws and interior goodies. They usually have all that stuff on the HELP! rack.
