  • Wheels for the SVO

Check out the wheels I recently bought for my SVO. The unusual set is 17 x 7" with the identical backspacing. Bought them off of Evil-Bay for $135.00 plus shipping new in box. The others are Mille Miglia 17 x 7 & 17 x 8 that have the correct backspacing. Kinda look like the Cobra R's but with correct fit-up. Those were a little more at 700 with tires but I figure that I'll see which ones I like more and possibly get rid of the other set. I'll post pics of each set fitted when the car gets back from the paint shop.

Yeah I know yuk!! But with different center caps they may have some curb appeal. Since we are so limited in our wheel selection, I figured that I would try just about any decent wheel if it may work. I'll reserve judgment until they are on the car.

the trick is to put the cursor on the smiley to see what the action is. i thought it was puking at first then it says drooling with the cursor hovered over the smiley.

            Nice rims. i like also.

I mounted the Mille Miglia rims on the new 8.8 rear today. Like a glove. I am posting pics as well. Too bad I don't intend on using these wheels. I will post pics on the fronts tomorrow or tuesday. I will also post the other wheel pics to see if there is a dramatic difference between the two sets. Let me know what you think.

The lowering springs still have to settle out to improve the looks of the wheels though.

                    Mike,

Actually I did. They came in at 16.5 pounds for the fronts and 17 even for the rears. They are 17 x 7 & 17 x 8 respectively. I am going to try the other rims to see if I like them better. It is kinda hard to decide since the rest of the car is missing. I thinks that detracts somewhat from the overall appearance of the wheels and car in general. The other rims I have are all 17 x 7 and weigh 13 lbs each.

I like 'em, however, I think they would look better one the lower springs settle down. There is too much gap between the fender and the wheel for my taste. What springs did you use?

                        Mike,

I ended up using an extra set of Matrix lowering springs that I had purchased for another mustang project. They are supposedly 2" drop on V8 cars, so I anticipated a little less on the SVO. Then again, there is no weight in the car as it is a shell right now, so it will begin to drop as I reinstall all of the components. I'll have to wait and see how it goes.
