  • What's the agenda?

Following all the threads about the 2006 reunion, I'm just wondering what the agenda for the weekend is. In the past, all the reunions; which have been basically SVO events, there has always been a pretty much set schedule: hospitality room on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night. Show and shine on Saturday. Autocross or open track event on Sunday. There are people who are registered to run the open track event on every day of the weekend, especially Saturday. This leads me to believe there won't be any kind of show for the SVO's on Saturday. The registration for the MCA judging seems to be just that: MCA judging. I'm registered, (I'm hoping the judges are near-sighted)but I can't help but wonder if they are aware of what our cars are all about. There has been no mention of any SVO specific events. I guess my question basically is: is this to be a SVO reunion, or just a SVO presence at the MCA 30th stampede?

It is primarily the MCA show and we have our own section / corral. The hotel we're all staying at isn't the MCA official hotel(s) so we'll all be together. I'm pretty sure Paul / SVPU is planning something at his place. I'm not too sure right now what day though.

We will be parked amonst eachother ( Ie: SVO's in one area ) they call it a "corral"

The way I would look at it is this:
Thurs: Open Track, drink beer at hotel
Friday: Open Track, show/shine, Dyno day for SVOCA and drink beer at hotel.
Sat: Open Track, Show judging and drink beer at hotel.
Sun: Show and awards.....I'll see about drinkin beer this night, the 12 hour drive home will be brutal on Monday.

Its an MCA show, but no worries man, we will be having our usual SVO "antics" going on. As for the judging, dont be worried about that. Im pretty sure they will not be usuing the strict rules that apply to their regional shows unless you are registered concourse.

I have to say first of all, I'm looking forward to going to a Mustang show of this magnitude. I only got to get up to Tennessee for the 40th anniversary for one day and with more than two thousand Mustangs of every description, that wasn't near enough time.

I am however just a little disappointed. It's going to be great to see friends from the SVOCA that I only get to see once a year, and I really like Gator's plan for the nights at the hotel. But, I fear that for the most part, we will just get lost in the crowd. I've always thought the SVOCA reunions were exceptional because of the special people who are there, and it's great to be able to talk about SVO's with someone that I don't have to spend half an hour trying to explain what my car is.

I'm not registered to run in the open track event because of VERY limited funds right now, and I don't have any illusions of getting anything from the show (there's no way I can afford to bribe all the judges), so, I guess I'm just along for the ride more or less. I am afraid this reunion won't be anything near what the others have been, but I hope I'm wrong.

Nevertheless, I am really looking forward to seeing all ya'll in Alabama.
