  • Bobs header

I did a search first but didn't see anything on this. Has anyone done an E-6 to a Bobs log manifold / header? http://www.40bob.com/?loc=shop&cat=1 If so was there any improvement? I have talked to several people who have said there is an improvement with the Bobs log over the E-6. When I search here, most posts say a ported e-6 will work just about as well as a header (if you have a fairly stock engine) I am asking because I am going to get his 3" elbow. If there is a big improvement with his log / header maybe I will get it at the same time. i have a ported E-6 now that needs to put on the car. Opinions please. Thanks X

    I have a Bob's header, but
    #1 -- it's still not running yet,
#2 -- it's not a engine that was running before the swap, so no before and after numbers.

Same here, I can't say the before and after improvements first hand. The previous owner went from a E-3 to the bobs and he Claimed it made a difference.

I will say the bobs log is a nice piece. Mine orginally didn't have the EGR port but i sent it back and he hooked it up for me.

If i had a different cam i might boost a little sooner, i won't complain. i have about 15 psi at 2900ish and full 20-22(bad boost spike) at about 3100ish.
I need a new boost controller bad. i get as much as 6 psi spike.

In my 2600lb Ranger I picked up a tenth and a half at the track and a solid 1 mph over my fully home ported E6 on a much hotter day than my old best ET.

My truck has a 160,000 mile stock 85 2.3 in it.It had a Ranger roller, bone stock head with original springs and a R.W. sprocket.Bobs ported and gutted intakes,Bobs log and 3" elbow into a full 3" exhaust.I have a stock 86 SVO t3 set at 20-22psi,small Spearco front mount,46lb CFI injectors,Stokes J3 ,LA3,T5,8.8/w 3.27 gears and I run on BFG DR's.It ran a best of 13.26 at 101 dead hooking with a 1.80 60ft and with a 75 shot of nitrous it spun to a 12.62 at 111 with a 1.95 60ft.If you do a search for "svo ranger" on Streetfire there is a video of the 12.62 pass.
