  • 1/4 mile predictions, smak me here!

    just for fun...

What do you guys think I'll run w/ my '84 SVO?

I wanna see who guesses the closest to my best run. Your prize will be a great deal of my respect.

-I have zip experience, never been on a track before.

-My shifter needs replacing, and second is an agonizingly slow shift compared to my other stang. T5 fluid is fresh though.

-My car has a gillis valve w/ 18 psi

    - a TC intercooler I'm adding a Bosch BPV to before/over this weekend.

    -K&N to VAM

-Firestones! low budget the guy I bought it from put on it just before my purchase (I think Allantra's is the name on them). Actually they have impressive grip for a street tire IMO.

2.5 inch exhaust -bummer, thru a flowmaster, no cat

    E6 manifold

Tuneup is fresh w/ all Motorcraft stuff and the car runs like a top!

synthetics front to back. (just thought I'd throw that in )

Now this isn't a how much HP question do I have, I just want to see some quesses and then compare. Anyone?

I think experience is the key here....

at the beginning of the night...16.5

end of the night 15.5 ( if not "we" get to drive it.)

            145k w/ fresh Felpro 1035 & new headbolts.

Man I hope Gator is wrong w/ 16.5!

I'd love to park the car and find him and go "What'd ya say, huh? What'd ya say?" - but if he's right - Dawg that's gonna hurt!

-did I mention tinted windows and my SVOCA sticker?

I'll throw out a guess of 15.2's, with a 15.0 possible if you can get it off the line cleanly.

Experience can play a lot into what you run, I can clearly attest to that. At one of the Can/Am shows a few years ago an SVO friend couldn't get his car better than a 16.7 (they 98% humidity, 65deg and a slick track). He threw me his keys and said to have at it. My first past was a 16.1 with the second being a 15.8. I guess all those late nights at the test-n-tunes paid off in a strange way.

Well, got my car all ready. She's ready to beat all your pathetically dismal time estimates .

Not to mention my excellent driving prowess you guys neglect to figure in the mix!

& my new secret weapon! Yes, I've put a nozzle "T'd" off my washer fluid line, and I can douse my IC w/ icy cold water! I anticipate a shave of 1.5 seconds off my time for sure! Actually the value of it may be questionable, but it was a lot of fun doing it. Got to use my Die-grinder and JB Weld! I love that stuff!

btw: the BOV works great, big improvement to the car.

yes I did and I'm bringing my hatch mount grill so we can hook it up to your bottle. You never know when we're gonna be hungry.

                      -think of the traction!

I really did add a spray nozzle from my windshield wiper tank over to my Intercooler, I wasn't joking. Scary huh?...

Ok All joking aside.....i can see it now....at the light your thinking so much about the washer thing that ya put sooo much water on to intercooler that it spews on to the track...ya leave hard...the rear runs over the water...the car pulls...and the rest is what they say is history. i've been to the track enough time to see silly little tricks that dont do anything ruin a day at the track.
