  • Fresh faces?

I know I've seen the white-faced replacment guages for the SVO but does anyone know of new faces like the originals? I've seen a lot of pics lately of some guages that look almost like new and make mine look like their faded....is there anyway to re-do these without having to relie on a donor instrument panel? Thanks!

I don't know where to get them, but when I bought my svo it came with original looking factory guages that number up to 140 instead of 85, so there are some out there.

I believe PPI sells refurbished Motorsport speedo for about $160. Ford Sold 2 types in the Motorsport Catalog. I don't recall what the other one looked like when I ordered this type 11/85. Here is the PPI pic.

Are you looking for EXACT replacement overlays?

I was wondering about original style replacement overlays as well. My beater SVO has some very faded colors on the cluster. Those overlays look like they'd be tricky to install.

A buddy has one of the 140 mph speedos in his. It was a calibrated police unit. That calibration adds to the price of the speedo quite a bit. I think the feds told the auto manufacturers back then that they didnt want to see speedos in passenger cars that went over 85 mph.

They are fairly easy to install. You peel them off the wax paper, then wet them on the sticky side by dipping your finger in water and spreading it out. This allows you to slide them a bit. I also gently wipe from the center out with a kleenex. That gets extra water out as well as removing air bubbles.
