I was looking at the engine on the stand today and noticed there is a spot on the back of the header that is threaded but does not go all the way through. What goes here?? Here is a pic so you guys know what I am talking about

I have an ATR header on my car and need to get it smogged. The guy said my egr was clogged and wont pass. So do these headers have a place to bolt the EGR tube to but does not go through? Do I have any options or do I need to remove the header?
Thanks

The EGR will connect to the ATR header. Although, the connection tube will need a hole drilled into the header. What I'm saying is on mine the connection tube was welded on the header but the tap was not drilled on the header so that the EGR could receive exhaust. This is probably your issue.
Just drill a tap the size of the EGR orifice. It's about 1/8" or so. You can drill it from the inside though the turbo flange.Last edited by Henson; 02-09-2007, 07:00 PM."Specializing in Brut Force and Ignorance."

you might be able to pass the test but you wont pass the visual withough the egr hooked up so i doesnt matter. if its not some chinsy shop they wont even test it until you hook everything up. did you buy that car off craigslist or are you selling it of craigslist? black one right? nice car.

all you guys tha need to pass emisions should try the rubing alcohol trick , it has worked every time for my uncle and his 250000 + mile s10 1/4 tank fuel or less and 2-3 pints of rubing alcohol it will run like crap if you let it idle so you have to kinda keep your toe on the gasmoving forward in a backwards rotation
