  • 84-85 vs. 86 Cross Member

Thanks in advance for your replies. I didn't see this in the FAQ section. Does anyone know if the 84-85 SVO transmission cross member is different than the 86 SVO. Do they make a difference in whether the dual exhaust can be bolted up?

all the cross members are single hump. I don't think there is a difference in them.

The Y splits after the crossmember on 85.5 and 86 cars.

Thanks for the reply. I guess my confusion comes from seeing somewhere that the 86 dual exhaust will not directly bolt up to the 84-85. Is this true?

it will bolt up - but in doing so - you'll have to change the fuel pumps from from a dual (one in tank/one on frame rail) setup to a single intank application.
