  • Defrost whistling under boost

This one kind of made me laugh when it happened. Tonight coming home from work I backed down from a Ferrari Testerosa that was egging me on for a block or two(a Ferrari at 12:30am means out to make money). It was late, and dark, couldn't tell if it was a kit car or real but looked sweet. Anyway, no excuses, I just didn't do it, even though Nike says I should have. And no, Don Johnson was not driving it...

Down the road after he left I got on it a bit with my defroster on and a loud whistle came from behind the dash while at 10-12 psi. I couldn't make out exactly where.

My thinking is maybe a vacuum leak? Anyone come across this or have an idea? Thanks.

    whistle sound

    turbojoe,

I sometimes have or had the same problem. Have you checked you intercooler hoses from wear, rips, or loose or broken clamps? These all can cause that sound, mine used to do it all the time and my car would loose lots of top end balls until it warmed up and i guess the I/C hoses sort of melted/bonded themselved to the T/B and Turbocharger.

    Just a suggestions,
