Did the 84 come with an electric cooling fan?

To the best of my knowledge, they are all the same. Electric cooling fan that kicks on all the time with the A/C on, or at like 180* during normal operation...WAY too late! You usually don't have a problem, as long as you're moving, but if you are sitting in traffic, it gets hot WAY too quick. Another common problem is for the fan controller to go out on these. There are several remedies for this problem. Do a search of this forum, it's all there.

The fan blade and motor are still available from Ford. Not sure about the shroud though.

You can always replace it with an aftermarket fan with it's own thermostat. I'm using a Black Magic fan.
