aren't they 18x9's?
cobra wheels which are 17x8 barely fit with 245/40-17's, you can fit 245/45-17 if you roll t her fender, cobra wheels are made to hold 275-295 tires and the fender would most definitly have to be rolled. im nto sure if they would still fit or not after this, you might find it easier to buy 98 cobra wheels (look just like 95 r wheels but are 17x8) and put 245/40-17's on them...

saw one this weekend at reunion
**name corrected, all them black cars look alike to me**
Ted Schafer had his '86 at the Reuion with a set of the '94-'97 17x8" Cobra wheels with 245-45-17 tires and looked great.
These wheels will work on a NON-LOWERED car without a problem, keep in mind the COBRA wheel is 1" wider than a stock SVO wheel and will have a slight bit more positive offset.
Look for a pic soon somewhere on the SVOCA website.Last edited by bigwingsaleen; 10-29-2002, 06:40 PM.Gary Alsobrooks

actually - I think that was Ted's black 86 with the 96 Cobra wheels on it...Originally posted by svogary

Chris had some SN95 six spoke wheels on his car Sunday at the track. Same ones that came on a 93 Cobra....

94-95 GT had 2 wheels options, the 17-in. 6spoke(which looks like a 3spoke) and a 16-in. 5 star, which is probably the wheel your thinking of Ive saw a few on SVOs. While it is a five star it is quite different from the 93 GT (Pony) wheel. The 93 Cobra had a wheel which was unique to it only. If you go to mps website they probably have all those wheels.Duhhh!!!! Why dont ya put a 5.0 in that car George???

Nope. Not talking about the 16" pony wheel. I'm talking about the 17" GT wheel offered in 94-95...commonly refered to as a "6 spoke" wheel.Originally posted by pegasus.v.o

Yeah o.k... Ive saw a few of those on SVOs to but, that is nothing like the 93 Cobra design. It looks like a fan type wheel to me cant remember how many spokes there were to it but I am thinking it was 10. spokes were short and bent from outside to inside with the large center which covered the lugs. I know you would recognize/remember them if you saw them as they are a very distinct design.Duhhh!!!! Why dont ya put a 5.0 in that car George???

Those rims came on the 93 cobra R's but they were black with a chrome ring and centre cap. The 93 cobra rims that are reffered to as fan rims are seven spoke.Originally posted by svobud

Here's a pic of the cobra rims but they have a decent offset for the SVO application but they are four bolt rims
If they were five bolt rims i think they would look killer on an SVO.

Yeah I just checked the mps website and they do have a set on a 93 they are parting. Darryl is correct in that they are seven spoke and now that he mentions it the 93 Cobra R did have the wheel you are talking about Bud as it had the 5-lug conversion to accept that wheel. Easy to forget that car since there were only like what 50 of them made? D oes anyone remember?Last edited by pegasus.v.o; 10-30-2002, 02:04 AM.Duhhh!!!! Why dont ya put a 5.0 in that car George???
