Man is it hard to believe that the week is over...
I was asked many times why on earth i would spend a whole week in AL and my answer was basically because I knew it would be a good time.
I suppose I could sum up the whole event with the following:
I went to a junkyard that was ( no, im not kidding ) the side of a mountain.
I saw dead cat....many times.
I learned how to make ants fly....
I learned that "fixin' " has nothing to do with the repair of something....
I learned that a deep fried turkey ...is a good thing.
I learned that Ty owns the General Lee, and that he has proof he was way cool, years before I knew what the word meant.
I learned why Ry likes mice costumes and pizza so much.
I learned that reaction time counts for alot in a drag-race ( thanks to both of the gentleman i mentioned above. )
I learned that in order to deal with "alot of work ahead of us" ...we must first eat steak.
I learned why Bud had rubber gloves ( and NO, I dont want it explained to me again. )
I learned ( from J.H. ) how NOT to heat up the rear dogs at a road-course....and ( from Bud ) what not to do when the tires are cold.
I learned from Mr. Wenk how to control hostility in public.
I also learned that these are some of the best damned people in this hobby of ours....hand down.
Once again I can say that without every person there, it would not have been the same. There is a definite reason that brings us together for these events and the SVO is only 1/2 of it IMO. The other half is our enthusiasm and the comrodery.
As always I returnned home with a bit more knowledge about the cars themselves and what it means to own one.
I would like to say thanks to everyone for a great time. I hope that I was able to say good-bye to everyone, if I didnt Im sorry and I truely wish that i had.
Im glad ( as always ) that i had a chance to meet some new faces and im happier than hell to see the old ones.
AUGH.....now its cold here in Cleveland, and they are calling for snow in the forecast this week.....makes me ill to think i was wearing shorts and a T-shirt last week.
Oh well...time to pull the motor and get ready for next year.
Big hugs for everone......and thanks once again,
Gator G. Gator
