  • someone lost a E-clip..... needs fixed before the reunion

    dang it....est. 400 rwhp with no turbo boost doesn't bode well with Jim (SR-71)


    I called him up and said I was near a hardware store....and told him Im looking at E-clips... I'll pick up a few on my way to the base and stoped by his place so he can fix his wastegate.... and of course pics are here of the fix...


    first pic.... .can you say (Wicked SVO of the North)

    (NOTE) Jim REALLY likes black...... socks and all

    second pic..... Jim lookin up into the bottom of the issue and i could not resist the pic.....

    He managed to get 400 rwhp out of a 2.3 N/A?

      Use a roach clip, I mean a clip that you use on wires.
      Time to clean up the engine bay!

        Yea, Richard! Don't you remember giving me hell about what was holding my wastegate on for the last five years?!
        I call it an alligator clip though.

          alligator clip......

          Dave, YES i sure do ...... but lowes hardware.... $1.27 for two 3/16 inch E clips.........

            in a pinch, a piece of wire will work.

              Richard... but getting that little SOB on there with the turbo still on the car! That's the issue!

                Jim heard of a trick.... apply a low amount of air pressure to the wastegate and it pushes the rod out so that it will reach the flapper on the elbow.... worked like a charm....

                  Jim... you DROPPED something...

                  1st pic ...it may be important to get it fixed before the reunion...

                  2nd pic ..now WHERE does that muffler bearing grease go ?

                  3rd pic...one SVO up in the air isn't enough !

                  4th pic...okay okay...so I did an oil change, tire rotation, and changed out the spark plugs....kinda a mini tune-up before the trip...
