Does anyone know or know anyone who has the Powerheads 2.3L SVO head? If so, how is it? I appreciate any feedback about it. -Alex

I know a guy who has one on and is sure his valve guides are leaking after checking everything else. He is not happy with their unwillingness to rectify the situation.

I have a ported head with big valves from Powerheads. The work appears to be quality, haven't ran the motor yet. Here's some pictures

So far my power heads head is ok. I had a A237 big valves and springs put in. The port work looks great I had to open up my intake a lot more than expected tho. I am having no issues with my valve seals. It is a bit noisy compared to stock but I think most of it is the ATR header which is a piece of *&%$. I will post my review on that in another section. I would recomend Bill for 2 reasons. they were the least expensive and the turnarround was real fast. Bill was real easy to deal with. the only down side was the shipping. They need to do a little better on the packaging My head had some road rash on it. nothing that would cause alarm but the box didnt hold up to UPS.
I would give them a thumbs up.
I have the big valve flowed head from powerheads in los angles..the guys there were very helpfull to me and i am very satisfied with the head ..the cost was fair and shipping was quick ..i have had it on my 84 svo for the past 2 years..at first it seemed to smoke at start up ,,i call them and they sent me new guide seals ,,those seals are still in the bag at it one day quit smoking ..i would buy from them again if needed ..fran

my head from Powerheads. Actually I think that Bill is starting his own thing at Powerheads called Powell Perfomance. Working on 2.3 motors.
Bill did a custom grind cam for me. Siad that it would give me great bottom end. I plan on putting it back in the car this week then hopefully getting it tuned on a dyno soon after that.
Powerheads is about 10 minutes from my house so the service was great. Lots of useful info from Bill. I've even had Bill work on my daily driver a few years ago. Nice guy and I would buy from him (and probably will) again!
