  • Shocks, struts

I changed the shocks and struts on my SVO to konis (reds)
The ones I took off were Black, no koni markings at all.
I thought Koni were the only type of strut/shock that could run on stock svos.

    These had no markings.
The car was built in Sept. 83'
If that has anything to do with it.

    as always thanks all!

    Fish,

Are you the original owner? If not, they may have been replaced before you got it. If so, someone may have grabbed them when you had the car in for service for something else.

Our '86, which we bought in 2000, had a set of front struts that had had the inserts replaced. To do this, it looks like someone cut the tops off the original front struts and installed the replacement, generic strut cartridges. Don't remember who made them, they had no easily-discernable name on them. They were completely shot when we pulled them out. Oh, what a difference new struts makes.
