Guys, I got another question. Where can I buy the lower intake gasket? Oh yeah, let me add that I have gone to a few auto stores including the Ford dealer and the gasket I keep seeing is a gasket that has all oval ports. The original gasket had oval and D ports.
I've found the intake to head gasket at Ford. I have also heard that these "paper" gaskets have a tendency to get vaccuum leaks. I've heard, that the felpro gasket is better. It is a metal gasket with a blue color. I've found this at an Auto Zone parts store. I haven't tried either one yet (have both, just haven't got the motor together yet), and never had a problem with a stock one either.
I am pretty sure I used the felpro oval port gasket on my engine when I put it together...
I know I did check the fit of the gasket, and I dont remember it interfering with the port. My ports weren't opend up , but I did polish them, for a little better flow.
The Correct style D-Port lower intake to head gasket can be bought from Napa. Napa part # MS-15582-W. I picked one up today for just over $8.00. It comes with the gasket for the 85-86 upper to lower gasket. I layed the D-Port gasket over the Ford original i have and it is a perfect match. Hope this helps.
