  • feed back area

so i was thinking " as i start to sell things here , and ive boughten things here " there should be a feed back area
like how the transaction went, if the item was as described, ect, ect ,you know just a basic input area with deals that happen here , so that others will know what to exspect from the person who posts a wanted or for sale add , kinda like a trader rating so every one knows what type of seller or buyer you are , i personally have all good coments for those that i have boughten from " except on seller"

    just my .02

i know of 1 that several people would have wrote up bad feed back on, i was warned but didnt listen , i cant remember his usser name right now , merseybeat62 that it " thank you anonimous person" , i bought a horn pad from him that was not the condition he said it was , it really pissed me off

just think it would be a great way to say thanks for a good part or sevice , or a way to let other know that they should not deal with that person

folks caught lying and steallin in our classifieds are promptly booted thru the goal posts of life ... along with members of the gooberhead corner carver small wee-wee club.

I can see a feature of restricting NEW forum users from posting for sale ads until they've made .. say 10 posts to the forum, but creating a feedback area that could result in a bunch of people saying nothing more of, "he's not a crook", seems like a waste of bandwidth to me.

I would be in favor of a posting limit before being allowed to sell / trade parts. Over at 4eyedpride the limit is 30 posts which seems fair to me. It would help weed out the "1 post in 4 years looking for seats" who doesn't even own an SVO crowd.

there's a svo bashing thread going on over at corner carvers rightnow, becuase we banned the guy wanting svo seats. (he wasn't banned for posting, or for wanting svo seats, he was banned for showing his arse to a director when his thread was deleted, cause he didn't read the rules)

Even some of our past banns have posted there, and left a great many details of their banning out... *SUPPRISE*

This has been brought up before (XX posts before you can post a classified) -- and I have been against it
            -- And here's why --
From time to time we get people that drop by that want to sell an SVO, that have never been active in the SVO internet community. I'd hate to keep one of our members from being able to snatch up a deal, cause we didn't let them post the car here.
Then I thought -- well we can apply that to the parts section ?
            then it hits me --
someone rummaging through their old stash, and finds a box with a set of SVO NOS side spats, still in the box. -- visits here to post them for sale, and I'd really hate for a member to miss out on those.

On to the last sujbect -- deals gone wrong -- If you guys have a bad deal with someone, let the BOD know.
We aren't the internet popo -- we can't go smack people down, and make them comply, and I don't want to hear -- "my package arived one day later than he said."
But we will make a note of it, and if we get multiple complaints on someone, we will give them the boot.
I think it really happens so rarely around here, it would be a waste of time to setup a feedback system. I have many other things in the works at the moment, that I think you will like better in the long run anyway....

I'm with Eric. And Mike, if you're worried about someone who's selling stuff, do a search, easiest way being advanced search checking their name in the fpr sale section, and see if they've sold stuff before. If so, write to someone who bought something of them and ask how the transaction went.

As for Jim, merseybeat62, that's who I got my Motorsport head from and he was actually ok to deal with. So, as you can see, even a "feedback file" can't always save someone from having a negative experience.

Most people on this site are honorable people - it's the way this site fuctions. The crooks just don't hang out here. BOD weeds them out so there's no real need to have a feedback area. Most of the people who post items for sale are known by the SVOCA community and want to contribute.

I found a NOS "U" shaped heater hose here from a 1 time poster - I agree with Eric's view. Besides, if you hang out here long enough, your almost guaranteed to find a deal - if not from a 1 time poster, a reputable one.

You can't really expect anything if you don't put your time in. It's the same in life - live & learn. Oh - and let the buyer beware!

a informed buyer is more likly to buy than a uninformed buyer , and a informed buyer is less likly to bitch about a seller if they have read about past dealing that other have experianced or will be more comfortable to buy from them

i see both sides of it though , i dont want to start a big todo over it , i was just tring to contribute , nothing more

please dont kill the guy tring to contribute

                      That sounds reasonable to me.

Its actually 20 posts and I feel the rule works excellent over there although it does create more of an issue with moderation.

How hard would it be for some scammer with 1 post to put up an add that he has a pair of NOS spats for sale and then run off with the money?

I actually had a hard time with someone here over something I was trying to buy and I was warned by MANY members not to deal with this person but it was already too late because I sent him the money.... I think the frequent members here know who and who not to deal with.
