  • engine rebuild

Well, I got a bad valve seal somewhere about 3 weeks ago and it was puffing smoke. So I figured i'd drive it for awhile during these nice days in October, and into November when its usually cold. Then about 2 weeks ago I went to start it and then i pulled around the block let the clutch out to start going and it just started wacking out almost died barely even runs.. and when it does and you get it up to about 2000 rpms it has a very bad whineing noise and then sounds like chiping or chirping noise until you let off or put the clutch in, keep in mind this is if it will run. I got it started and was barely able to make it the storage garage. It also sputters very bad when i do get it started.
It puffs blue and Grey smoke out so I don't know what to do, im thinking rebuild. it has 115,600 on the clock. I realize i probably need a new clutch too.
I know it costs a ton to have someone rebuild my engine for me and im poor (in school), and I don't know much about engines. IM wondering if there is any rebuild kits for the 2.3 with instructions??? If there was I might be able to handle rebuilding it.
any info if possible could help
    thanks.

    rebuild

I did a rebuild a long time ago and instrumental was a guy named jerry walsh @ racerwalsh.com in jax fla. I was able to get more than enough info, an parts weren't that difficult to find. Check him out it might be helpful.

From the symptoms that you describe I would venture to guess that you have blown a headgasket or have a cracked head.

Usually valve stem seals do not let enough oil into the engine to make it run as rough as you are describing in such a short period of time.

You need to have a leak down or a compression check done on the motor to find out where your problem is located.

Unless you have been very rough on the motor, 115,000 is not a lot of miles on the short block. I would be looking for other answers to this problem before I dismantled the engine and tried to rebuild it.
