  • Not sure what I want to do.

I'm dying to get some new wheels on my SVO but I'm not sure which direction I should take or exactly which wheels to go with.

The cheapest route is to get some tires for the stock wheels. But the Mrs doesnt like them and I need to stick with that. I'm supposedly fixing up the car for her to follow me to car shows, I pretty much need to keep her happy about driving the car.

I'd like to get some 94-97 Cobra wheels if I can find some nice ones for a nice price. I have some Weld ProStars that I'm trying to sell that should easily cover their cost, but everyone that wants to buy them are morons that dont want to pay what they're worth(Corral). I'll probably just end up eBaying them this next week.

I also have an extra set of 99 Cobra wheels and some 1994 SN-95 spindles and calipers. I see from looking trough the forums that they dont fit very well so I'm not too determined to try. I dont want to give up my Konis since I'm trying to do this for a reasonable cost. Insalling some generic struts for the time being seems like a step backwards. I'd still need to get some different a-arms for the front adding to the cost of the conversion.

As you can see I have several different pats I can take but none of which are standing out as the way I'm going to go.

I was in your shoes not to long ago, basically every mustang wheel 94 up will fit but stick out alittle in the front(believe me it looks bad)unless you do a swap,I just did 87-93 A arms(control arms and mm balljoint spacers),the only wheels that fit nicely are the 05 rims.

Did you need to notch the a-arms for strut clearance?

I just bought some 01 V6 wheels for really cheap. I put them on my car (without tires) and they look like they will fit fine and as Ive heard they fit fine with tires and with out any mods to the suspension.

the 01 wheels will stick out, and rub with about any sized tires on them

the 05 up wheels have the right backspacing to fit correctly

I've got them on my lowered '86. The fronts will be fine, but the backs will rub unless you use 255/50-16s. On a car will stock springs, you shouldn't have a problem unless you load down the back of the car. See my avatar.

What would stock fox body a-arms and 94/95 SN-95 Spindles put me for front track width?

you wont need the sn95 spindles if you use maximum motorsports svo ball joint spacers, look up my thread in this section for info

Is that applicable to any 05 wheel that is stock sized?

Since you've dug the thread back up. I've decided to keep the stock wheels and I ordered some 225/50/16's.
