  • flex pipe placement

    like the topic states . i was wondering if you have to mount a flex pipe horizontal for it to fuction . or can i mount it vertical ,say on the down tube coming out of the turbo?................paul

    All the cars I have done I put the flex pipe on the horizontal. I have it on this car where the cat would normally be. my other car I had it right under the trans brace hump.

      I've got mine mounted horizontally. I don't think you want any weight pulling on it, so if you mounted it vertcally, I'd be sure to have support on the pipe coming out of it. I'll try to grab a picture of mine. It serves two purposes on my car... taking strain off the turbo and manifold, and lengthening the downpipe to meet the 5.0 3" tailpipe. I still need to weld a support hanger near the tranny crossmember.
      If it ain't broke... Give me some time!

        I used the stock crossmember hanger that was supporting the cat and welded the exhaust to it.
        Growing OLD is mandatory,Growing UP is optional
