We have about 2 months before THE SVO event of the year is here. REGISTER NOW (www.svoca.com/events/reunion07) < --- clicky-clicky.

Be sure to print out the registration form and send it in asap. This helps us divide classes if needed. Please make sure you get the correct year, mileage, and color listed. If you dont have a printer - write down all the listed info and send that in. See example listed below ...

No Member registrations will be excepted the day of the event. You must PRE-REGISTER. Your membership MUST be current the day of the event. If it expires between you sending in your registration, and the event. You will not be eligible for door prizes unitl your membership is current. Anyone walking up the day of the event will be required to pay an entry fee. Sorry. You must be registered to be eligible for door prizes.

If you dont have a room reserved at SVO Central ... HURRY - DONT DELAY. They will disappear before you know it.

Please make a note the pricing on the autox went up slightly - but only because the cost to us from the local SCCA group increased. You will STILL get more runs than you know what to do with. The limit is 25 participants. No more. I'll let Gator set up the North Vs. The 07 Winners from the South - but you must be an autox participant to be selected for that.

Tell a buddy. Bring a friend. BE THERE!

Disaster. Disaster. Disaster I say.

So I called to make the reservation and the lady had no idea what I was talking about when I stated I’m with the SVOCA club. She was insistent that I need to give her the name of the person that made the initial reservation. She would not give a room for the rate of $64.99.

Is there a block of rooms for us? She stated there was no block of rooms and there are only four reservations for those days.

What to do?

SVOeric

You might have got the night shift person.
I've got confirmation sheets for 35 rooms right here.

unfortunatly, I'm out running most of tomorrow, but I will call and check as soon as I can.

There's a drag strip nearby and I do believe normally Friday night is test/tune. I say nearby in Kentucky terms and you'll know what I mean after you make that drive. Just turn right into the trailer park - it's on the other side of it. But - as a club/group - no, we're not convoying over there this year.

I do need to know if i need anything special in order to run the AutoX

Not really anything special. Your car must past tech (nothing loose inside, battery held down, return spring on throttle, good pedal pressure on your brakes, no visual leaks, no loose/worn suspension, yada yada yada.) You must have insurance (that's for the entire event weekend). You must have working seatbelts, You must have an approved helmet. Nothing to it.

I'm sure if the Huber clan show up they'll be more than happy to help you out with some competition. The track is 1/4 mi and they allow full runs. Eric will have to help out with directions/address.

this should answer all your drag needs.
http://www.mpdragway.com/

The reason we don't do the drags in KY, -- 3 years ago we were setup to go there.
We showed up, and
#1 We were supposed to get a discount coming in the gate.
#2 They had re-scheduled one of their rained-out bracket races for that day, which means we got almost no runs.
#3 it's a FUR way to get there, especially where we will be this year.

So we've setup the dyno day now on friday. That will have more details coming up soon too.

MikeFleming

So is there a Cheer leader squad there to help wash the cars? Or is Fleming arranging that? I usually specify BYOG - Bring Your Own Girl(s). But I'm sure between Hooters and Waffle House we can round up a reasonable assortment.

Iirc, we discussed bringing the Sunland Carwash Cheerleaders but we decided that the shipping costs would be prohibitive (unless everyone chipped in) so we may have to use local "talent". Didn't we discuss this in the Reunion 2007 thread?

boostedbruiser
08-05-2007, 01:35 AM
Well it looks like i'll be out of luck since the test and tune is on the following friday and they have some kind of Mopar race event going on.
Though it would be fun to be up on some mopars with the 4 pot.

Ahh eitherway i'll be there and i might go ahead and plan on AutoXing.

Ok....a non-alcohol related question...lol.

I was toying with the idea of making the trip out there with my 17 year old son. It would fun for us time for us to bond (lol), give me an excuse to work on my car and I was hoping he would be able to AutoX. Is that a possibility and how do I make it happen.

... making the trip out there with my 17 year old son. - I was hoping he would be able to AutoX. Is that a possibility and how do I make it happen.

Yeah, he can do it. You'll need to go to the SCCA site and print off one of their special waviers for Juveniles and you will have to be at the event to sign for him. Same stuff (valid license, insurance, safety equipt) still applies.

One of our autox entries is a juvenile as well.

On the minor waiver, our region won't honor it unless both parents sign. Of course in California, where you can probably get sued successfully if you look at someone cross eyed, I'm sure someone's ex got pissed off and sued. Maybe things are a little more sane in Kentucky.

SCCA only says licensed drivers. So 16 in most states are permitted to compete - with the usual permission of parent/guardian.

Well, I am actually going to make it.

The first snag would have been the $600.00 fuel pump repair to my Focus (1k miles out of warrantee) that actually turned out ot be a service bulletin on the fuel pump that cost me only for the tow :woot:
Of course the one dealer didn't even metion the service bulletin so they could suck the money from me. Bastages!!

I also just had to sink $610.00 into the pooch who might have cancer. All the money went to blood tests, sedation, X-rays, and a biopsy that we still don't have the results on. I can't see not spending the money on her, she is my "only child" so to speak.

So, I called SVO central today to confirm my room (I got paranoid after reading a couple posts), and the reservation was FUBAR. They had booked me for August 4-8 instead of October......I was wondering why my card got charged already.........the manager fixed it and I am set with some real estate at the Ramada for the weekend.

So who is coming in on Thursday? What time, etc?

Pat, where are you wrenching at? You said you had to get some cars going. PM me with some info (cell numbah, etc).
