which muffler is best

What would be the best replacement for the muffler on a stock motor??? I was told that a Flowmaster is not a good muffler for a turbo car because of the baffle design. Anyone have any good suggestions???

I went with a Spintech, but do a search for MUFFLER, and you will see that there is some good imput with opinions there.

dynomax ultra flos. thats what i have now and i love it. i took a super turbo our and put that in and i could instantly feel the difference.

I have Magnaflows on my SVO and Turbocoupe and I like them a lot, but I was thinking of trying something different on my Turbo GT.
My exhaust guy recomended the Flo Pro Twister. Supposedly the spiral baffle creates a vacuum and helps spool up. He put one on his son's WRX and it sounds so mean under boost.

I have tried several of the Spintech mufflers, the #6444, the #3444XL and the #8444. They all flow within 10% of each other. The difference is price, the #6444 is the cheapest, loudest and best flowing. The #3444XL is about the same price and little quieter. #8444 is the quietest and most $. Got them from the guy on ebay, very good to deal with. You can also get these models in Stainless steel, for more money of course.

i have a 3" flowmaster in mine, and it isnt too bad, but i liked the dual Dynomax that i had on my 86 better...

Thanks for all the input guys. Now I guess I'll have to make a choice. Money may be the ultimate factor, but I will not get anything cheap. Luckily my wife will not argue and she'll probably let me get what I want (its great having a wife that loves cars too).

For the money, I'd look at theDynomax Ultra-Flow!! about $70 for a 2-1/2".. Sound is really good also..

I was using the Hooker Aerochamber and they flowed really well. I switched to the Flowmaster single chamber and like the sound much better. I'm more superficial and can careless if I'm losing a few ponies by running the FM's..

This is what I use, its cheap and sounds great. One guy asked me if I had a 460 in the car. It might be a little loud, it pisses off my wife.
