  • Directions anyone ?

A few have asked, here we go.

SVO central is right I-75, just off Exit 110.
Southbounders, take a left off the exit,
Northbounders take a right (it's a merge lane)
You guys comming from the north, the 1-75/I-64 split is about 1 mile from this exit, when you see the the split coming up (you will be on the merged I-75/I64 road when you see the split) , you need to keep right!

    SVO Show, from SVO central
SVO Show will be held at Home Depot, just off Harrodsburg road, (also known as Turfland mall)
Take a right at the light, onto Winchester road (us 60)
hit new-circle road (it really don't matter which way you go, because it's a circle, and where we are going is about 1/2 way around). I suggest going South/West
    go to harrodsburg road
head in towards town, you will see turfland mall, and home depot about a mile on the left.
    Addresses are --

    Hotel
2261 Elkhorn Rd. Lexington, KY 40505

    Show site
    2021 Harrodsburg Rd, Lexington, KY

Some mapping programs show to go through downtown, I don't recomend this route.

    SVO Auto-X
Take a right at the light, onto Winchester road (us 60)
hit new-circle road (it really don't matter which way you go, because it's a circle, and where we are going is about 1/2 way around). I suggest going South/West
Go past the show exit, and look for OLD FRANKFORT PIKE
If you passed newtown pike on your way to the site, turn left at the end of the exit.
If you passed nicholasville road on your way to the site, Take a right at the end of the exit, and the dump-truck training pad is on the left, less than 1/4 mile from the exit.

      To those towing ...

Please make things easier on yourselves and others by parking on the street until you register. If you pull in the driveway, there is the possibility of a gridlock situation.

Not to be a pain, but why are the directions by Eric and Rob (yes, I know you are local folks) suggesting going around the southern end of the circle vs the northern end? I ask, because the route to the auto-x location is effectively doubled (15.5 miles south loop vs 8 miles north loop).

The southern section of the loop is two lane highway. The northern route is surface streets with many stoplights.

Interesting, I didn't remember the difference since I took the northern loop last Reuion here. It is interesting that Google shows a longer travel time and distance, so it must not have factored in the street lights.

Of course the time difference "in traffic" boosts travel time a whole 5 minutes (20 vs. 15 minutes). If it were Chicago, you would just double or triple the travel time in 'traffic'. Add water/snow to the mix and just quintuple the time easy. In a snow storm a few years ago it took me 5 hours to go 40 miles.

Leave it to someone from CA to give me street level details in KY! Looks like I owe Pat a
