yeah, I noticed there were alot of people with BIG FAN fetishes there. Dunno why - the 2.3T runs sooo freaking cool in the first place. Oh well, My fan looks like a baby's arm hold an apple ... no wait ... that's something else.

Because the stock setup always seem to break at the worst possible time. JTurbo and Mutant's cars were both overheating in PA when we hit bad traffic. Roger resorted to blasting the heat to stay cool.

Were they really running hot? Or was this via the factory gauge?

Yes, this was via the factory guage and none of the cars actually overheated. Roger and Dana looked like they were overheating though...

All those fans, and there were still a couple cars showing up at the home Depot overheating... I've got the turbocoupe dual fan on mine... Has a great tool bench built into it!
If it ain't broke... Give me some time!

The fan has never been the issue. Maybe the fan RELAY ... but not the ability of the stock fan to properly cool the contents of the radiator.

My factory gauge led me to buying an big fan. This was before I figured out the whole factory gauge thing. Plus, the new fan looks better.

Well actually, we were stuck in traffic for over an hour. Ambient temp was running in the mid 90's according the the Tahoe. My SVO (Roger was driving) has an emergency fan controller bypass so the fan can be turned on at will. And it was still running very hot in traffic.

Mutant's fan controller didn't work. So he resorted to cycling the engine (on/off) to keep the temps under control. We all made it home, no damage done.....

Gator's car has an aftermarket fan so they must be better.

Thats cause he didnt have a stock one in his pile of parts. He pulled that one off a chevy impala in the pick-n-pull yard.

                              Indiana Dave,

I've got a TC dual fan as well, but just haven't hooked it up. Sitting in my garage.

Did you hook it up to the stock fan controller with a relay or have an aftermarket fan controller. I also have a Flexalite adjustable fan controller, so I can use with the dual fans so I don't fry my stock controller. How did you wire yours up?

Did you also upgrade the charging system? I was just wondering if the tc fans draw more amps.

I also have a 3 row, wider than stock radiator...how does the tc fan fit...any modifcations to make it fit?

                              Thanks
