  • air flow goes away with throttle

    OK guys, here's the situation:
Driving around town with the vent selector on 'vent' my air flow goes away when I get into the throttle any more than about 1/3. Is this normal?
It also happens when the A/C is on, but I know that some cars will do this in an effort to reduce parasitic drag from the compressor, so I assumed the SVO was designed the same way. But on VENT?

    No Air

Sounds like you have a vaccum leak some where and the diverter door is closing on you.

The A/C blower fan is electric and will still operate when you punch it. However, the compressor drops out to prevent over pressurizing the A/C system during hard acceleration, but the blower fan should continue.
