  • SVO White-faced Gauge Overlays

I bought the SVP white gauge kit and was installing it today...very nice kit by the way. No problem opening the cluster and removing the speedometer needle but I am having trouble removing the tach needle (didn't want to break it). Can anyone help me with this? Also, if I want to paint the needles on the other gauges, do I need to leave remove them (looks difficult) or do I paint them attached.

    Thanks.

    Ron,

when I installed mine - I didn't remove the Speedo/Tach needles. Instead, I chose to make a small slice (with an exacto razor) at the hole. I made the slice where it would not be visible when the car was parked/turned off.

I also painted my all needles (without removing them) with a neon orange model car paint.

Tip: Wet the backing of the overlays when installing. I chose to use a small bowl with water in it. Dipped each overlay in it .. and then applied. This allows you to correct mistakes in position (if you make one). Smooth out the air bubbles - then set the cluster in a warm spot. I did mine in the summer - so I just laid it out on the sun for a couple of hours.

I just did mine last week..

i did take my needles off, and I can tell you that the tach needle was a pain...

just keep working with it gently .. it will come off if you want to do it this way.
