im sure this has been covered a thousand times but it would be great to have a " how to " section for diff type of repairs, upgrades, you can just click on such as timing belt replacement, brake repairs, etc. Im new on the site but it seems like you have to do a search to find something to that affect and try and find an old post, very time consuming. I was trying to find a "how to " for the timing belt replacement and it took awhile to find anything. For the newbies ( like myself ) and unexperienced wrench turners, it would be great. I seen in the FAQ a few things but i thought it would be nice to have a section dedicated just for those types of things. Im probably getting ready to do a timing belt/ WP on my car and dont mind posting pics to use as a "how to" to help start it out.. just thought id throw in my 10 cents.

Thanks for the suggestion, but a how to section is nothing more than a condensed version of our tech section. the search feature works fine and will answer your questions quickly if properly used.
btw, a timing belt swap is not a svo specific thing. i'd suggest you at least pick yourself up a chiltons manual.

i was just saying... instead of having to search for 30 min. it would be nice for EVERYONE to be able to click and go. Ive been a member of alot of other forums and just about every one of them has a how to. like i said,, just puttin in my 10 cents trying to make the site better. BTW... already got a chiltons..Phil

You're right. But I think we only need ONE 'how to' thread ...Originally posted by dpmeeks View Posti was just saying... instead of having to search for 30 min. it would be nice for EVERYONE to be able to click and go. I don't use any other sites for searches, and I have problems finding specific things sometimes. Maybe a 'how to use the search feature' would be a good idea. Unless there is a thread out there.....but I would be able to find it fast. User error on my part I know.....just an example, I search for 'installing control arms', which I'm sure has been talked about at some point, but really didn't get any good hits.....again, I know it's user error, so help.
I don't have 10 cents, so that was just my 2 cents, wait never mind, do you guys take IOUs or monopoly money??
Keep up the good work, I love this site."My turbo's bigger!"
"No, mine's bigger!"

Installing control arms hasn't been discussed much. You might get a few hits on changing bushings, but still not sure you'd get what you wanted there.
Believe it or not, there are still a few topics (like the one you hit) that we have not had a lot of conversation on.
There's also a lot of stuff that a how-to would only be usefull for a bone stock car. Since these things are 20+ years old, only a few of us are lucky enough to still have one like that.Eric C
