  • Wheels For My 86 Svo

I have tried to purchase new wheels to fit my SVO. I wanted them to fit inside the wheelwell and to look more modern. Obviously I am keeping the original wheels for a change of pace.
At the local tire store I had to send back three different sets of wheels that did not fit. How frustrating not to be able to find different wheels.
Raceline wheels announced that they make the wheels upon order for your SVO. I purchased razor wheels listed at the website for about $400 per wheel. Raceline sent a sample, (not a full wheel) to put on the car to make sure the bolt pattern, hub size and offset are correct.
If you are frustrated like I was, want some different wheels, then this is one alternative that is not cheap. Custom wheels for 400 each is not a bad price for polished billet wheels.
I thought that other SVO owners would want to know about this option.

If only someone made a 2003 Cobra 10th Anni wheel that would fit all 4 corners of my stock 86 SVO........oh well.

Watch it Rusty - buy another SVO to mod. 10,000 mile SVO rims are hard to find. Really, I don't care what you do to your car, but dang - you can't find 10,000 mile SVO's anymore! Take care of that thing!

        Wheels 86 svo

Have no fear about modifying the 86 SVO. I have two 86 SVO's and would not think of permanent modifications to either one. They will both remain stock. Another set of wheels and tires is not a permanent change.

I wish they would make the speedline wheels that came on the saleen! Last I saw went for $2300.
How wide can you get the rear wheel?
Time to clean up the engine bay!

Gotta say, if you were at the last reunion, you'd know that the 5-spoke, torque thrust style wheel for the 2005-up Mustangs fit very nicely with minimal fabrication/pursuation to the dust cap and center cap. See avatar

I'd love to see a SVO with a set of those mounted up...

They can be made to work, but not without some modifications. Henson has the stock Cobra wheels on his race car. You can ask him what he did to make them fit. I know he's got Maximum Motorsports suspension all around; probably with stock, early fox GT length rear axles and front control arms, but I'm just speculating. Those wheels are 17X9's with SN95 backspacing.

i'm posting a bunch of wheels that i found on ebay that will bolt on an svo with no problems and they have the right offsets.

the following wheels have the absolute pefect setup.

these are some very nice wheels as well and will fit perfect.

and theres a bunch more wheels out there. I have no idea why so many svo owners have such a hard time finding wheels. about the only thing i can think of that would be a problem on any of the wheels i posted is that the fronts hu8b might stick out a tad to far for the center car to fit. but you can easily modify the that or use a 3/8 or 1/4" spacer.
heres a pic of my car with 18x9.5 rears and 18x8.5 fronts with 35mm offset.

looks good but the rears look like they stick out a bit far...do you have a side profile shot or an angle shot that would shot the wheel/tire in relation to the quarter panel?

Well, it looks as if your rears stick out past the fenders a bit. Shots like you've posted above don't show how they fit very well. A shot from the rear down the 1/4 panel would show how well they fit. Anyway, it looks good!!
