  • Betty Lou got some new shoes

After dynoing today - I stopped by Pauls shop and bolted on my new digs. They're SN95 6spoke, tri-spoke, 93R model look-a-likes .. whatever you want to call them. Tires are Yoko AVS Intermediates 235/40/17s. The qtrs were rolled. I had NO RUBBING on my 120mi drive back home on I-20's bumpy-azz concrete.

Here's what was on my car .. American Racing 16X7s with some POS Toyos - I hate the tires. Worst wet weather tire I've ever driven on. They would scare the devil out of me ... hydroing over a puddle of spit.

    Below is the new ones.

Bud, are you running stock or aftermarket springs with this new set up? Oh yea, looks pretty darn good!!!!
Would you the know difference in hgt. & width between the 235/40's you have and a 245/45/17 ? I currently have 245/45's on silver tri-spokes. thanks! Zen

I like Black wheels on a White car. Gives that stealthy, purposeful look, but I've never been able to warm up to that 6 spoke wheel. Although, after seeing your picks, I like the way they look in black a lot better than chrome.

I love the 93R look. As far as converting 94GT wheels to 93R, how do you make the outer polished rim?

I had these wheels done at Wheel Worx about a year and a half ago and put them on my black '91 Lincoln Mark VII LSC...I hated them on that car..too much black on too much car...so I saved them for a Mustang and was going to use them as track wheels on my SVO...but Bud wanted a set and pursuaded me to sell them to him at a loss

Wheel Worx polished the outer lip to a mirror finish and then painted them black front and back, I then bought a set of the chrome caps without emblems for them. I like the way they look on Bud's car!

My car has Eibach Sportline Springs. They're supposely a "V8 NON-Convt application only" spring. One ride in my car and you would never know it. But, it does lower the car alot more than the 4cyl specific spring from Eibach would. As for a 245/45 tire .. I really don't think it'll fit without some rubbin issues on a lowered car.

                  New Wheels

                  Bud,

Not to come off like a jerk but I think the SVO looked better with the previous wheels on it. Were they 17"s or 16"s? It might be just that the tri-spoke isnt one of my favorites but I suspect it's more the black against white contract. I love how they fill the wheel wells (especially out back) but........... I just dont think they do the car justice. Personally speaking I am very partial to the 94,95,96 Cobra wheel. Still a faboulous looking SVO though, just my 2 cents.

Not a problem Cudd. Everyone has an opinion. The A/R wheels are 16's. I'll probably switch my Victoracers over on them cause they were super lightweight. I wanted to paint these wheels Charcoal Gray in the center. May still do it - once I get tired of looking at them. And personally - I really don't like the 94-97 Cobra wheels. I didn't even like them on my Cobra. They got yanked very quickly when I owned the car. But hey - just different looks for different folks. The 95R wheels are just TOO common. Didin't want to go wheel shopping - spend buttloads of money .. and end up unhappy with with I bought. I thought this was something fresh looking ... and I think it's looks dead sexy ::FatBastard Voice::

ZENSVO - the measurements with my tires/wheels are 23.75" tall (or wheel/tire combo outside dia) and 9" overall width (outside edge to outside edge of tire mounted).

There is a guy on turboford, and maybe a member here also that has a set of Bullitt rims on his SVO but for the life of me i can't remember his name right now He had to get custom center caps made for the fronts, as you can see from the pics

I'm still tossed up on whether or not i like the bullitt's on an SVO, to each his own i suppose.

                              Bullit Wheels

Well - I don't know "personally" how to make them fit, but I've seen two people with them (know them personally) on their cars and saw how each of them were able to mount them on their SVO.

                              1. Ryan switched out to SN95 stuff. Brakes, spindles, control arms, etc.

                              2. Paul - did some "grinding" and kept his factory set up. I just recently spoke with Paul about doing an article for the newsletter covering this modification. His comments on it were, "it's NOT an easy modification to make them fit - and hopefully - other will see that and think twice before getting their hearts set on using the Bullits and trying it"
