i just put on some lx tail lights and i still have the stock svo lights , there in great condition and are clean as hell, well some one asked me if i was selling them and i want to know how much they would go for if they look NOS but are 17 years old and have been on the car ever since, the guy told me he would buy them off me for $100, is that too low for them or a great price?

Re: Svo Tail lights
Sell them for what you think is fair to you.....BUT...current market value is higher than that....as an example, I would happily buy them from you for $100 but I would feel as though I was taking advantage of you since I would only resell them as I do run a business. Realistically they are worth $75 to $100 each... as a FAIR market value....in some cases more if they are VERY nice and clean.Originally posted by cccccc

Now there are some dealers out there that would charge $200-$300 or more EACH for used ones...but that IMO is not FAIR market value...that is gouging market value...after all, its a Mustang and not a Ferrari....and they are not impossible to find if you take the time to look.
If the guy who wants them owns an SVO then I would be more inclined to cut him a deal....on the other hand if he owns a 5.0 and wants to put SVO lights on it....Full List him and charge a high price. Hate to be that way but I prefer real SVO owners use the harder to find parts rather than a V8 look-a-like or clone.
Ofcourse I don't know why you would want to remove them and make your SVO look like every other Mustang out there but that is a personal decision for you. If you don't NEED the money, you would probably be doing yourself a favor by just setting them aside in case you want to reinstall them later or to help out the next owner down the road as they may want the SVO lenses back in it.

i personally don't care for the SVO lights too much. I was originally a 5.0 guy, and i still have alot of 5.0 inspired styling ideas. i'm not looking to fully restore my car, rather a resto mod. i love the front bumper and hood and stuff. but i only have one SVO light and one early GT light (looks the same just without pin striping) i really don't like the tail lights. they don't even match. i am thinking of doing LX lenses. but any parts i take off of my SVO i'm going to put up in the rafters or attic, just in case.
) sorry if this post is off topic. in conclusion, sell the lights to the guy for like 150.

svoPaul is right/ Sell to another enthusiast for a fair price OR clean and polish them and put them in you attic! These taillites are very hard to find for a SVO.
People go to great lengths-I had a set of stock 1985 GT lenses stolen on my other car (I guess someone wanted them real bad and cracked one on the way off)/ just to show you that even "regular" lenses are worth what someone wants to value it!
