Well, I am finally tackling my exhaust. I just got tired of smelling exhaust fumes in the cabin and hearing the rattling mufflers. I am about mid way done and am working on filling in the missing pieces, namely a new y-pipe. From the attached pics you can see the obvious reasons for the exhaust fumes and rattling. The welding job on the replacement mufflers left a little to be desired to say the least!

I am keeping my factory 2.25" SS tail tips, but replacing the over axle tubes by slicing up a set of aluminized Dynomax tails. In front of those will be a pair of Ford Motorsport 2.25" Borlas (sitting around for the past 11 years ) and a custom 2.5" y-pipe. The system will get a real workout at the Autobahn driving event on June 2nd, so I will give a report as to the sound quality.

I guess if you put enough spit shine on the top half of your car, you guys don't bother to look underneath, eh?!?

That exhaust system has been on that car since the first owner had the vehicle which was prior to 1990. I still can't believe the car needed new mufflers in less than 4 years, but then again the original owner used it as a daily driver through the wonderful salty winters around here.
