How hard is it to get my wheels trued back up? I hit a major pot hole on the highway......it was either that, the bridge guardrail or a semi.....and bent the inside lip of both wheels on the drivers side. Thanks.

Actually, you can bend aluminum wheels, but only if the bend is a small amount. I have straightened Pony wheels and Cobra R wheels that were bent about .125 after I hit a pot hole. Aluminum bends best when warm, aproximately 200 degrees. I put them in a lathe on a mandral and used the chuck to straighten them. The wheels are still on the car after 5 or 6 years and still straight. Some good wheel shops can straighten bent wheels. Good luck. Tom

I used to straighten wheels for a living and yes they can be straightened if they are not bent on the hub or spoke. Most stock rims can be fixed, however, cheap after market crap will crack due to low quailty alloy.
I used a jig and hydralic force to straighten. Most of the time I would heat them to make the bending a bit easier. You can heat up to 400 on most wheels w/o impacting the integrity of the metal. Goal was to get them within 20/1000ths.
If I couldn't do the wheel, but they were fixable or had a crack, I used to send my wheels to Dallas for customers. There is a shop there that turns them around in 24 hours, welded and machined. If interested, AWRS of Carrolton, TX.
