  • IRS EBrake to SVO how?

    Howdy all,

I know this was mentioned in a thread but I can't find it. I'm all set to go w/ my IRS. I have the Cobra OEM ebrake cables. What's the best solution for attaching them to the ebrake handle assembly. Someone had mentioned using a sn95 part but I was unclear as to what I need to pull out of the bone yard. Do we ditch the fox ebrake handle assembly entirely?

Any suggestions? I'd like to have all the parts before I pull the car apart!

    Thanks! Mikey

Mikey, there shouldn't be any problem hooking the sn95 cables up to the SVO hand-brake. they both have hooks.

the hard part is there is a piece that is welded to the body that you will need to hold the cables.

      God I love Bender!

When I grow up I tell ya.....I'm gonna be just like a Bending Unit!

OK, so what I need can come off any `94 up Stang? All the same up through 2003? I'll hit the yard with a sawz-all.

Did you tack it onto your car yet? I know you didn't when you 1st did the swap.

      Thanks Man!

            Pics of EBrake bracket....

For those few of us that don't own an `95 up Stang, here's the bracket that Eric is refering to. I'm goning to swing by and cut this out of the car this week. I would imagine that getting the two floor-mounted cable-holding brackets couldn't hurt.

That bracket is spot welded to the chassis.

              PUT THE SAWZALL DOWN!!!!

Take your favourite battery drill and a spot weld cutter or 3/8" drill bit and have at it. Might be an idead to take a thin metal putty knife and a hammer so you can get under the bracket and peel if off. Hope that makes sense.

yeah, use a plasma cutter instead

You really only need that front one, but the others would be nice as well.

                  Uh... yeah.

Well, I like plasma cutters but I live in car hell. This is 4x4 country and finding a Stang in a yard is hard enough. This one's up on stands in a pick-n-pull. So, I have a Honda genset, that's the only way to get 120VAC on the site. Yard won't move the car. I can drill holes and wack out a section of the floor then drill press off the bracket. Yard already said no torches allowed.

I think the driveshaft tunnel is flatter than a fox body. we'll see how it fits.
