Non Konis on an SVO

I know this has been talked about before (I read some of the previous post on the subject), but I've never read a good explination of how.

Can a set of non Koni struts be put on an otherwise stock SVO. I know others have done this and I am wanting to know specfics of what strut was used and what modifications were needed.

What are the differences in an SVO specific Koni vs. other mustang struts? Is the difference in the upper mount (shock tower top) or in the lower mount (bolts to spindle) or in the length?

Anybody got any insite?

I know of a person that installed Bilstien struts, mainly to install bigger brakes in a SN95 set up. There is some minor modifications to do this on a SVO, but a very doable thing - even without the SN95 set up. I know there are some generic strut applications also, but I don't think you want to go that way.

I put a set of Tokico 5-way's on my 86. I installed a set of cc plates to compesate a little for the reduced travel of the Tokicos by lowering the upper mount. I then got out my high speed grinder and slotted the upper holes so I could camber where it should be. Rides great.
