Im painting the trim around the hatch glass and when i took off the biwing, the trim kinda came up from off the window. Should I finish taking it off to paint it? (this would save me hours of prep work and eliminate any chance of overspray issues). the trim didnt seem to want to come out easily so I didnt try to force it and I thought I would ask you guys.. it kinda seems to me like it just snaps in..

I painted the trim "bumper gray." Huge mistake, although the cap of the paint matched perfectly, the actual paint was not even close. So, I painted it a flat black and it actually looks pretty good. If you are doing an actual resto, you will need to do it right and get the right numbers for the paint. But if you just want something to cover up where the paint came off - a quick sand, a shot of primer, and a shot of flat black paint did the trick.

Flat black is a bit too flat. I was told by an MCA judge Krylon Semi Gloss Back is just about correct. I would question it's durability though. I ended up just buying new trim. 84 trim was replaced with 87 or 89 trim. It is a shade grayer but not really noticable.84 SVO 1 owner, 02 S.Crew, 69 Mustang, 85 McLaren
