  • Wanted "PE" Alive.

I’m looking to either barrow or buy a PE for the 86 for this weekend. My car has something of a Schizophrenic / Tourette's syndrome. Don’t worry it did this before the last turbo and intercooler update. I must fix it first before I do any thing else.

How I figure it. It’s the Computer, Wiring or the Superchip. I have refurbished and Replace everything else to like new condition.

Swapping the computer will narrow down the problem by 1/3. If you have one and YOU KNOW it works properly. Bring it with ya.

    Let me know.
    Thanks All.

I agree there, make sure your J3 terminals are clean on the EEC and chip. My car used to have a mysterious cutoff habit on road trips that I eventually traced down to my Superchip (255hp version).

Removing it was OK, as with my modifications it was leaning out my fuel curve on the top end anyway. Good item for a stock combo to prevent the excessively rich condition when you first tip into boost and on the top end. Any takers??? Name your price.

Now did you have the 42lb Chip? Can you run 42lb injectors on stock computer or is that too hillbilly? Hey- you know I am a hillbilly, check the Avatar.

              Let me know.

I ran 42's on a stock PE for a few years till i had a J3 burned. Ran just fine.

( but cleaning up the curves on timing and fuel gained me a whole lot with the J3. )

I was running 42 lb'ers with the stock PE, too. Ran great, pulled an 11.8:1 AFR at last year's reunion. I tightened the VAM spring, though.

Nah, the 255hp chip was intended for stockers. Hmm, now that I think of it, if it runs me a little lean on top with 35's and a stock FPR, I wonder if it would allow me to run 42's w/o smoke screening everyone behind me. Damn...now you got me thinking!! In any case, it is packed and will make the trip if anyone with a PE would like to try it.

Seems to be running rich on the 42's after taking the chip out and running on the just the PE.
