    IRS Interchange-ability???

    Ok, this I know, Cobra irs fit SVO ok, early 90's Thunderbird IRS not fit Foxbody. What if any of the parts are interchangeable??

    I'm sure I hear someone mention that the axle housings and shafts were the same?? Anyone know more??

    And yes Stacey, I know you think they're c#$p.

    The Tbird SC IRS is wider than the Cobra IRS....I think both use the 8.8 center section.

      tbird housing is cast iron. whether its stronger than the aluminum housing I dont know...

      I'm on the fence as to whether to get an iron housing from a tbird or an aluminum housing from a markVIII as the IRS I bought has the housing cracked...

        Yeah the SC is cast...also doesnt the SC rotors/axles have a different bolt pattern than normal fox bodies?
