    Hey all,
    I have heard that the A-237 Cam is a good and popular upgrade for the SVO, but I was wondering if anyone had used a custom camshaft? If so, what type of performance increase did you get, was it worth the cost and could you provide the specs of the cam.

    The A237 isn't an upgrade for the 85.5 and 86 SVO, as it is the stock cam for those MYs.

    Boport puts out a custom grind and all of the feedback has been positive.

    The specs are kept private by Bo, as he wants to keep others from copying his hard work

      The A237 is not a stock cam, it was designed for NA engines. Hard to go wrong with Bo's stuff.
      The BATFE should be a convenience store.

          Just to make sure the numbers are covered. The A237 is an aftermarket roller camshaft. The A231 was the slider camshaft with 0.400" lift used in the later SVO's. The early SVO's had a 0.390" lift cam which I've seen referred to as the "C" cam.

            the lob seperation is different on the 237 versus the 231.
            112 degrees versus 110 if I remember..I read that our motors prefer 112 at least.

            I went the opposite direction in power with the ranger roller going to a .350 lift, but reliability and longevity were my goal.

              I've run both the A237 and Boport 1.5 cams. I liked them both but I prefer the Boport. Similar idle characteristics (Bo's is only slightly better), but Bo's has considerably better driver manners. Plus it "feels" like it has more top end power because it just keeps pulling. The A237 would come on like a fiend at around 3500 but would fall off (or level out) at around 5000rpms.

              These are just my opinions; I've never had my car dyno'd so I have no real proof of my analysis. Your mileage may vary.
