I picked this up from Ken 14 months ago - yeah Ken, I know it feels like yesterday. The car is running great and things have been updated and repaired along the way ...
The pics below are the befores ... then as things progressed .. to current. Today I picked up my extra set of stock rims that were repaired/polished.
So far .. the mods are;
clean/buffed paint - 76k miles ... original 1B paint. trim/bi-wings repainted
headliner replaced.
dashpad replaced (with NOS piece)
steering wheel replaced - THANKS Bob Tweedy
horn pad replaced - THANKS Bob Tweedy
shift knob replaced - THANKS Bob Tweedy
Eibach springs (sportlines)
Flaming River steering shaft
TC/IC
A/C recharged
squirrel nest removed from fan box
heater core replaced
manual boost controler
alum drivershaft
alum flywheel
polished stock rims
More mods and improvements to come ... just have to spread disposable $$ around on other hobbys. ;)

If it is any consolation I took my chainsaw to that dang tree...
I cut it bad, I cut it real bad.... GRRRRRR
Looks real good. I just wish I had been able to do the same before I let it go. But then again it would have just made it harder to sell.

You're asking for me to compare apples to oranges. They dont compare.

Bud... Looks awesome for a polish job! What polish did you use? I've tried a lot of them, and I've seemed to settle in on Meguires products. I've also got a claybar which picks up an amazing amount of grit out of the paint... Do't recall what brand it is.
Oh and yea... There's no comparison to the a stock rag joint... I've got the flaming river shaft, and every little twitch of your arms is transmitted into a directional change... Awesome!

Yes, they're polished. I said that in the initial post. I just picked them up today from the shop. Dave, I used the take them to the professional wheel guy polish. ;)
These wheels had deep scratches (REALLY deep) and curb rash like you wouldnt believe. The shop asked if I wanted them polished (no extra charge) and I jump at the offer. The inserts are painted dark grey metalic.
BTW - Ken - thanks again for selling me this car. I'm glad it wasnt perfect when I got it. It gave me something to work towards with it. Still not done - but not going too far with the mods.

I wish my paint would have polished up as nice. Previous owner stored it under a blue tarp and, well, you can imagine.

Actually, Bud... I was asking about the polish you used on the body... I got that you had the wheels done. They look good too.

I am amazed at how the paint on the roof came back to life! Any more tips??? Did you use a machine polisher too?
Nice work. These cars are fun to bring back to life, as long as you don't spend too much $$$.

It's the one I drove to the Reunion. The only one I have now.

I used a compound and wax with a high speed buffer. SVODOC did some more work on the paint - but still, only a compound/wax with a high speed buffer. There's still some imperfections in the paint, ie: some of the berries actually acid-burnt the paint in a couple places. No getting it out.
Nice work. These cars are fun to bring back to life, as long as you don't spend too much $$$.
Well ... I dont have that same opinion per se. If I like the car, I'll spend more money on it than it's worth to the public .. cause the car is worth that much to ME.
