  • Ken P's 86 7B Start to Finish

This is the start to finish process on my 86 7B 1FABP28T1GF232988. First I want to give credit to Patrick Kelly / Kelly's Restorations 404-966-4004. This project was done by him and shows all of his hard work and attention to detail. I made the large purchases of all the NOS parts and other odds & ends needed to complete the restoration and had them shipped to him.

We used many different vendors / suppliers / services to complete the resto. I have tried to put together a comprehensive list but may have missed a few. To those people I have missed I want to apologize. I also want to thank the various members who contributed needed parts.

Paul at Gyrhead & Sons for the tons of NOS parts
Bob Tweedy for the steering wheel / horn pad, shifter knob, and NOS shifter boot.
    Paul at SVPU
    Charlie at Evergreen Turbo
Al Haupt / Stackz for dash panel refinishing
    Matt at *********************s
    Jim at PPI
    Wheel Worx
    Discount Tire
    L & L Machine Shop
    Eco-Clean Chemical Strippers
    Green Sales
    John Bleakley Ford
    5.0 Resto
    Pat-in-LA
    Steve / Onthegosvo
    John Basler

It was built on 4/4/86 and is the 9552nd SVO produced. I purchased it from Victor Goss on 3/17/05 ( St. Patrick's Day ) in Prairieville, Louisiana. It came with many NOS parts like the header panel and all six front lights. Also new Konis, door strip mouldings, and the original short block with VIN stamping.

The resto started on 2/27/06 at Cobra Restorer's in Kennesaw, Georgia. It was completely dismantled to a bare shell and repainted on 4/3/06 to 4/6/06 exactly twenty years later after it was first built.

It was returned to me on 7/26/08 as a brand new SVO. With the exception of the front bumper cover it is complete. There was a paint issue which is being resprayed. When it is finished I will add the pics to the last post.

    Enjoy the process...
