  • Raven's 85 1B

I didn't get the 65K 1B ready in time for the reunion this year. I had started to paint it and other stuff just got in the way. Its' been sitting at the paint shop and I have been putting some time in down there(Number 1# son messed up the wifes Cobra) and have started back on the car. Painted the spoiler last night. Heres some pics, more later.

    Projects

It's been a busy last couple of weeks. Thanksgiving, the distributor gear sheared a pin on the 86, the head gasket went on it next, and then the oldest son wrecks the wifes Cobra. While the front end was off the Cobra, I took advantage of the situation and decided to replace the belts. I had an idler and a tensioner that needed to be replaced also. Only stocked in Detroit and nothing aftermarket available. It takes less time to replace the headgasket on the SVO than it takes to replace the belts on the Cobra. The good news is I have been spending some time finishing the 1B.

And all this time, you thought that euthenasia was a student foreign exchange program?

Sounds like "Number# 1 son" was just trying to assist in replacing those worn belts.

Now which cars do you need Pat & I to drive to KY next year?

Actually he was taking it to the car wash to wash it.

We'll draw straws! By the way I start painting the red one as soon as the 1b is finished.

Dont use up all that 1B paint and bring your spray gun over here.

Bring sanding blocks. I've got a couple door dings.

I didn't get much done on the SVO, but got the camera recharged. Here's a couple of pics for you Bud. The bike was totaled and bought for $1200. Have about $1500 in it now, not including parts swaps and labor.

These last pics from the paint shop are for Pat. This car is in to be repainted. It has been raced for many years and he just wanted to clean them up. Only one of them is here now.

By the way, we've just about got our beater miata track whore up and running. Cage is in, motor runs, seats are mounted, gauges work.

Just need to finish putting on the front bumper cover and bleed the brakes and paint the cage.

I hate the damn things unless I'm driving one

I had to put 2 broken header panels together to make one good one. It was fiberglassed together and then painted black, worked better than I thought it would. Got the front bumper hung and spent alittle time on it to start aligning it. Finished putting new door locks in and will put the door handles in next. Checked the rear lights and the lenses are loose, time to reglue!
